Prayer for Good Friday
Dear Jesus,
Today you were poured out as a libation for the forgivenessof our sins. I thank you. What lament could be worthy before You in Your agony?
And yet, you receive us; unworthy though we are.
Accept our feeble efforts of consoling you. Accept our contrition and desires of drawing near. Forgive all impure dispositions that displease your purity.
We pray,
Suffering Servant,
We adore You.
Marred Face of our Bridegroom,
We praise You.
Merciful Redeemer,
We love You.
Bearer of our infirmities,
Forgive us.
Holy Lamb, led to the slaughter,
Forgive us.
Perfect Oblation to the Father,
Forgive us.
Savior of the world,
We thank you.
We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you, because by your Holy Cross, you have redeemed the world.
